A synopsis of SPIN
ART (by Brad Herzog and Brian Adler):
In Hollywood, everyone
wants to be on top, but most are on the bottom -- ambitious and ignored.
They are the bartenders, caddies, waitresses, and valets. Courier Arthur
Abels decides if you can't join the movie-making elite, they must be beat.
Utilizing his bottom-feeding friends, his fly-on-the-wall access and some
clever sleight-of-hand, Art creates industry-wide buzz about a screenplay
that doesn't exist. But as his plan spirals out of control, scandals emerge,
friendships falter, and romance blossoms. It is much ado about nothing,
but it means everything. In the end, one thing is certain: in Tinseltown,
the only thing greater than power is the power of rumor.
**SPIN ART was selected
from among hundreds of submissions as a finalist in the 2000 Monterey
County Film Commission Screenwriting Contest.
